About complainabout.uk
The law already gives you the right. We give you the paperwork and the deadline that makes a company answer it.
complainabout.uk is a consumer rights tool for the United Kingdom. You tell us what happened in plain English, in five short questions. We work out which rule is on your side, whether that is the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the UK261 flight compensation scheme or the FCA complaint rules, and we write a formal letter that cites the exact provision, addresses the desk that can actually settle the claim, and asks for the remedy you are entitled to. Each complaint then gets a deadline you can see, so you know the first day you are allowed to escalate to the Financial Ombudsman, the Civil Aviation Authority or an alternative dispute resolution scheme, rather than guessing.
It is built for ordinary people who have been brushed off: the shopper refused a refund on a faulty laptop, the passenger whose flight landed five hours late and whose claim vanished, the small business chasing a bank that has not answered in eight weeks. People who do not have a solicitor on retainer, but who are entirely capable of asserting a right when the right words are put in front of them.
The site is built and maintained by a small independent British team with a background in consumer law and software. We are not a law firm, we do not take a cut of what you recover, and we will never write to a company on your behalf without you reading the letter first. You hold the correspondence; we just make sure it is correct on the first attempt.
Letters are drafted from the wording of the legislation and the regulators' own complaint-handling rules, and we keep that wording under review. complainabout.uk prepares documents and tracks timelines. It is not legal advice on your particular circumstances, and for anything unusual or high value you should take advice from a qualified professional.
